Smartphone Brain

We know that parents must be aware, and worried, about the impact of frequent screen time or internet use. And rightly so! But we are also aware that technology, computers, and the internet are going to be in their future and likely in their future livelihoods. What we do think is important is for parents to be able to set limits and perhaps a routine that children can easily understand. Just the same as teaching a child how to handle money, it is important to teach elementary school students the value of technology but also the dangers rather than ignoring it and shielding them away from it. What a great opportunity to teach them how technology can be a powerful learning tool rather than a time-consuming activity.

Luckily studying English also needs that routine. In our online English school, we have lessons on Zoom and we also have homework and activities on various apps. Setting a limit and hence a routine for their English study will not only help them get used to studying English more regularly but will also help them not overdo their screen time. Whether screen time or English study, short spurts more often are better than infrequent long sessions.
