On Sunday, Japan finally approved its first COVID vaccine and today the first inoculation was given. This is months behind other developed economies of the world. On top of that many surveys show that many people are reluctant to get the COVID vaccine. For me, this is worrying. Although Asia hasn’t been hit as hard with COVID as places such as the Americas or Europe, it’s essential that the world participates in the fight to lessen the spread of this deadly virus. COVID is not a country problem, it’s a world problem. If you are nervous about the vaccine, educate yourself by reading or talking to medical professionals or scientists. Your information shouldn’t come from posts from friends on Facebook or random forums of people gossiping! Please think about vaccinating yourself, not just for your own safety, or for Japan, but for the whole world.
Think back to last year when your elementary school children couldn’t go to school for a month or two, it was hard, right? Some elementary children in America haven’t been to school all year long! Although online lessons helped a tiny bit to ease social anxiety, the stress put on the children and families has been incredibly hard! Not only vaccinations but we also have to be aware of social interactions as well. Online English lessons can help ease your own worries about the spread of COVID but also one hundred percent lessen the number of people your child comes in contact with to spread this virus. Although there are promising developments in the fight to end this pandemic we are far from finished. Stay vigilant, stay safe.
