February 2nd Setsubun

Setsubun seems to fall on February 2nd this year because of a slight deviation of the cycle of the Earth orbiting the Sun. This hasn’t happened for 124 years! I had no idea that Setsubun was based on the position of the Earth and the sun! You learn something everyday!

Speaking of learning something everyday, have you studied English today? Many times students will procrastinate their study because they think they can’t sit down for a long period of time and concentrate. But what they aren’t understanding is that they are not only studying English but also building their routine. Of course it’s not ideal to just study for a few minutes or to listen to a book while doing something else but, as many people have said, it’s better than nothing!

That is the reason we try and provide opportunities for our students to do something in English everyday. Online English lessons, reading English books or listening to English books, doing activities on Seesaw and more. We want to show students that they can be creative and study English in many ways! Remember when I say “study everyday!” I know that we are all human so if you miss a day, there is always tomorrow to start again. Tomorrow is a new day!
